Pamplona, September 15, 2025 – The main objective of the GreenPATH project (\u00abCircular production of green energy from agri-food by-products using high-temperature processes.\u00bb) is to boost the recovery of waste from the agri-food sector in Navarre, while simultaneously promoting the decarbonization of industries with high consumption of thermal energy and fossil raw materials, as well as strategic sectors such as heavy-duty, maritime, and air transport.<\/p>\n

The first meeting of the consortium members working on the GreenPATh strategic project was recently held at the CENER (National Center for Renewable Energy) center in Sang\u00fcesa. This initiative focuses on the development of an innovative combination of high-temperature technologies that will allow, on the one hand, the transformation of agri-food waste into advanced biofuels and synthesis gas (syngas), and, on the other, the use of these renewable energy sources to generate and store thermal and electrical energy.<\/p>\n

In addition to NAGRIFOOD, the project integrates leading research institutions and technology centers\u2014the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) and CENER\u2014two companies in the agri-food sector\u2014HARIVENASA and URZANTE\u2014an entity specializing in the circular economy and sustainability innovation\u2014SUSTAINN\u2014and two technology providers\u2014GREENDUR and TAFCO METAWIRELESS (TAFCO), the latter being the project coordinator.<\/p>\n

GreenPATh will be developed over two and a half years within the framework of the Government of Navarra’s call for grants to carry out strategic R&D projects in 2025-2028, with 40% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the 2021-2027 ERDF Operational Program for Navarra.<\/p>\n
